John Wratten: Manager Specialising in all types of plumbing work, central heating & gas boiler and gas appliance installation and repairs. John can carry out annual gas safety checks on heating applicances in the home and provide Corgi Gas Safety Records for new installations, Home Buyers Reports and Landlords Gas Safety Records.
At Eclipse as well as central heating work and repairs we can also install complete new bathrooms, showers, en-suites, hot water cyclinders, , extrator fans, scale inhibitors and kitchen work including sinks and mixer taps, water softeners, waste disposals as well as installing kitchen appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers. John has been trading as a plumber and heating engineer since 1974. He grew up in Cambridge and worked with oil systems as a mechanical engineer for BP and Esso before setting up the Eclipse Plumbing & Heating Company.He has over thirty years of experience in boiler and central heating installation and repairs. He is a qualified Corgi gas registered installer. Each year he undertakes an examination and is awarded a certificate of compliance by Corgi to ensure he practices the high standards required to maintain the Corgi qualification. What is Corgi? Corgi is the UK’s registered standard for health and safety required under English law for Gas installers - a requirement obligated by the EC enacted by the Health and Safety Act 1989. John is also a member of the APHC. This is a National Association which awards Contractors an Approved Certificate for Water Regulations in conjunction with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999.
Marcus Wratten: Son - Plumbing & drainage engineer, multi-trades and construction and qualified electrical installator. Marcus worked as a plumber and heating engineer here in the early 1980’s before leaving to work for an electrical engineering and construction company in Zurich, Switzerland.
There he worked as an electrical installer and builder on corporate sites before setting up his own business in Zurich. He has become very well acquainted with the European standards for electrical and plumbing and heating. Whilst he was in Zurich he became familiarized with the luxurious quality finishes and fittings offered by the Swiss to the high standard we expect from them. He has now moved back to Cambridge to join his father and has brought his Swiss training and Swiss expertise with him to Eclipse. Marcus is a certified Electrician and the work he provides is according to the UK Electrician standards. He is also fluent in German.
